American Dog Rescue Helps Reunite Soldiers and Dogs of War

NEW YORK, NY (November 16, 2011) Arthur E. Benjamin, Founder of American Dog Rescue, is helping reunite veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan with the four-legged best friends they helped care for while deployed.

Today, Arthur made the rounds in New York City, beginning with an appearance on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” morning show. He then witnessed the emotional reunions of soldiers with their pets – including 14 dogs and one cat – at JFK Airport.

I am a veteran who's tour of service ended in 1986. my wife's daughter was dating a young man who served in Afghanistan. his name is James Bowers from Alaska. when his tour of service was over he was stationed here at Fort Stewart Georgia. at the last moment, even though Mister Bowers had all the appropriate paperwork from veterinarians, the airline would not let his dog,Ducati fly home toAlaska with him. because we were at the airport we took Ducati into our own home. he's been with us for about 5 months now and has survived a severe case of parvo. mister Bowers paid the vet bill of 700 + dollars from Alaska but is having hard times finding work. he cannot afford to have his dog flown home to Alaska and we need somebody to help reunite this veteran and his pet
