The Humane Society of the United States Assists in Rescue of More Than 80 Animals from North Carolina Hoarder

ROUGEMONT, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2012) – The Humane Society of the United States and area organizations were called in by Person County Animal Control to assist in the rescue of more than 80 animals from a Rougemont, N.C., property. The Person County Sheriff’s Office served a search and seizure warrant on the property and found 39 horses and nearly 70 small-breed dogs, cats and birds being housed in squalid conditions.
