American Dog Rescue Primes The Pump For Bruiser

SALT LAKE CITY, UT (October 26, 2009) – Bruiser, a friendly boxer-mix, was hit by a car and left for dead along the side of the road. Fortunately, a good Samaritan brought him to Salt Lake County Animal Services where specialists immediately evaluated his condition. After determining he needed a 00 operation, Shawnee Larrabee, SLCAS’s executive director, turned to F.A.C.E.S., Friends for Animal Care and Effective Solutions, and its board, went to work with a public appeal.

Arthur Benjamin, founder and president of American Dog Rescue, was the first to respond by priming the pump with a large donation.

“Bruiser is just one more animal who has suffered a battle with an automobile and lost,” said Benjamin. “Drivers need to always be alert and dog owners need to leash their pets for the benefit and safety of everyone. We are happy to lead the charge for Bruiser’s recovery fund. F.A.C.E.S. does a great job moving animal services in Salt Lake County into the future.”

Don Porter, chairman of F.A.C.E.S., thanked Benjamin and praised American Dog Rescue for helping to make the welfare of every dog in the county a priority for residents.

F.A.C.E.S. is a volunteer, not-for-profit corporation developed solely for the care and support of the thousands of animals that come to the Salt Lake County Animal Services shelter each year. Donations can be made at
