Top Hat & Tails 2010 Announces American Dog Rescue and Benjamin Foundation As Presenting Sponso

DALLAS, TX (June 1, 2010) – Dallas-area executive and philanthropist Arthur Benjamin, announced today that his non-profit organization, American Dog Rescue (ADR) and the Gail L. & Arthur E. Benjamin Foundation, will be the joint presenting sponsor of Top Hat & Tails 2010, the annual fundraiser for Paws in the City. The event will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

“It is our privilege and pleasure to be the presenting sponsor for another great event for the dogs,” says Benjamin. “The mission of American Dog Rescue is simple: ‘No Healthy Dog without a Home.’ Paws in the City works tirelessly to support this same mission in Dallas and nationally, working to ensure that every adoptable dog (and cat) find a loving forever home! We are proud to be a part of this unique and important fun fundraising effort.”

According to Becky Haisma, Paws in the City Board Member and Top Hat & Tails 2010 Event Chair, “Paws in the City has far surpassed our expectations in saving the lives of Dallas’ homeless dogs and cats, due in part to Arthur’s generous support over the years. We are proud to have Arthur Benjamin as our presenting sponsor for our annual ‘Top Hat and Tails’ gala once again.”

Top Hat & Tails brings in the most revenue for Paws in the City each year: to save more dogs and cats from the streets as strays and from being euthanized at the Dallas city shelter. This year’s event will bring together more than 600 guests and supporters at the Flight Museum, which will be transformed through the look and sounds of the 1950’s. Highlights of the evening include a celebrity dance competition along with a sit down dinner, cocktails, and live and silent auction, with proceeds benefiting Paws in the City.

Tickets and sponsorship opportunities are still available. For more information, please contact Becky Haisma via E-mail at beckyhaisma@gmail.com or visit www.tophatandtails.org.

Paws in the City is an all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization committed to ending the abuse, neglect and overpopulation of Dallas area dogs and cats. The organization’s goal is that every adoptable dog and cat receives a loving home. By providing money for spay/neuter and increasing the adoption rate, Paws in the City takes the first step in making Dallas a no kill city. The organization has spent many years rescuing and healing the abused, neglected and abandoned dogs and cats of the community and placing them into foster homes and adoptive homes. Additionally, the organization conducts offsite adoptions for the City of Dallas municipal animal shelter, which kills nearly 30,000 animals each year. Every dollar raised for Paws in the City goes to foster, adoption, medical and spay/neuter programs.
